Pet Food Shopping 101: Corn-Fed or Grass-fed Meats?

A question that needs to be asked nowadays when shopping for meats for your pets is: Are there CLAs in the meat you are about to purchase?

Why should you ask this question?

Today, pet cancer is soaring to an all time high. One in two pooches and one in three cats will succumb to the disease. Researchers are looking for ways to beat up on the cancer gene and CLA may help with just that!

So what the heck is a CLA?

According to EatWild.com: CLA is a newly discovered good fat called “conjugated linoleic acid” that may be a potent cancer fighter. In animal studies, very small amounts of CLA have blocked all three stages of cancer: 1) initiation, 2) promotion, and 3) metastasis. What’s more, CLA has slowed the growth of an unusually wide variety of tumors, including cancers of the skin, breast, prostate, and colon.
