A dog had a lucky escape from near-death, thanks to three men on a fishing trip.
At around 2am yesterday, two brothers and their friend found the golden-haired animal stuck in a rock cleft off the Kwai Chung container terminal No8 while they were fishing by the dock.
But just as they were about to bring the dog ashore, a strong wave washed it out to sea.
It tried swimming back to shore but without success.
One of the brothers, surnamed Pang, 25, then called the police at 2.30am.
Firefighters used a steel ladder to rescue the dog but the process was stalled by a surge of waves.
It took the rescue team an hour to bring the animal ashore.
